The purpose of the Education Programs of the Museum of Spanish Colonial Art are to promote, preserve, encourage, and educate the public about Spanish colonial art and to contribute to the revival and preservation of New Mexico’s rich Spanish colonial traditions
EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAMS
The Museum of Spanish Colonial Art sponsors educational outreach programs in the Santa Fe public schools as well as public schools and art centers in other areas of New Mexico. The Museum of Spanish Colonial Art pays for these programs through year-round fundraising efforts. The artists are reimbursed for their preparation, teaching time and their supplies.

DOCENT GUIDED EDUCATIONAL TOURS OF THE MUSEUM
Docent (tour guide) led tours of the museum will be available seven days a week year-round from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. Tours last from 45 minutes to an hour and can be scheduled through the Education Department by calling 505-982-2226 extension 122 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Please book tours by the 15th of the month prior to the month of the tour. Types of tours are as follows:
ACTIVITIES FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES AT THE MUSEUM
Families with children of all ages will find educational tools in the museum to make their visit fun as well as informative. Interactive materials add a new dimension to the traditional adult-oriented galleries. Parents can help children use the materials provided to enhance the museum experience for the entire family. The activities provide take-home art projects that will extend the family’s experience beyond the museum visit. All activities are free and available during regular museum hours.
